PSI 2019 with numerous innovations
- Premiere: PSI, PromoTex Expo and viscom to create the World of Advertising and Selling
- New: Discover all three trade shows in themed guided tours
PSI 2019 has repositioned its highlights, expanded its concept and enhanced its profile. Besides exciting programme additions, even more exclusive product launches and new special areas like the Marketing Innovations area, two parallel events will take place for the first time, completing the lineup of offerings for advertising professionals. That means PSI visitors will have unrestricted access to PromoTex Expo, the International Trade Show for Promotion, Sports and Workwear, and viscom, the European Trade Fair for Visual Communication. From 8 to 10 January, the three shows will kick off the new advertising year in Düsseldorf.
Focus on exclusive product launches
Finding new products tops the list of priorities for PSI visitors. PSI 2019 helps them to focus on this task in several ways – at PSI FIRST, for example, the industry’s premiere show. There will be an abundance of product launches at the promotional products trade show, and visitors will cast their vote in the People’s Choice Award to decide which ones will have the greatest chances of succeeding in the market.
Plus, the inventors and first-time exhibitors in Halls 11 and 12 will showcase fresh ideas straight from their workshops. Among them will be the iENA award winners ecofacture, whose assortment includes customisable organic products. Also onsite will be the guerrilla gardening pros from Seedbomb City; Fit Business with the table display for healthy workouts at work; Brand Elephants with the Dankebox, a thank-you box filled with premium goods; and the inventor of the barbecue sausage cutter “Der Schlenz”.
Promotional product tastings at the GUSTO Pavilion
It’s the multisensory stage for promotional products and one of the highlights at PSI: at the GUSTO Pavilion, visitors can participate in a promotional product tasting and check out the effectiveness of promotional culinary products for themselves. Exhibitors include waterdrop, the successful contestants in Höhle der Löwen, the German spin-off of the TV show Dragons’ Den, whose mission it is to enrich water with vitamins and fruit and plant extracts in order to encourage people to drink it. In addition, wellnuss Premium Snacks with products ranging from ice cream in powder form to snacks in customisable folding boxes; the speciality foods manufacturers Gourmet Leon with high-quality vinegars, oils, chutneys and more; Landgarten with various organic snacks; and many more exhibitors will be at GUSTO to indulge the senses of visitors.
PSI – PromoTex Expo – viscom: Three shows, three programmes
A showcase featuring the most popular promotional products, a hands-on workshop, a catwalk with action-packed choreographies and true superstars for the POS: there’s never been a more comprehensive programme than what’s offered at the trade show trifecta of PSI, PromoTex Expo and viscom. And everything’s completely open to PSI visitors. If you’re interested in getting an overview, simply sign up for one of the four different themed tours. Tour maps will be available for pick up at all the entrances. The tours featuring the slogans “Go for it!” and “Discover your Opportunities!” will lead participants to exclusive insights into the world of visual communication, which is waiting to be explored at viscom. Two additional tours beckon visitors to take a look beyond their own horizons. Featuring the slogan “Get Inspired!”, a third tour will take visitors to such programme highlights as the Textile Campus at PromoTex Expo with all kinds of textiles from smart to sustainable, the best and most creative POS displays competing in the Display SUPERSTAR Award, and the winning products of the Sustainability Awards 2018. This inspiring tour will also stop at the viscom live signmaking workshop with its own fan shop and the new PSI Product Presentations area featuring the industry’s bestsellers.
Meanwhile, the motto of the fourth tour will be “Boost your Knowledge!”. Stops will include the Merchandising & Licensing Lounge, the Corel & Adobe Forum and the two presentation platforms, the Marketing Innovations Forum and Forum 13. The Marketing Innovations Forum will focus on topics such as quality assurance for promotional products, legal issues and solutions when dealing with brands and licenses, and the possibilities of deploying environmentally friendly advertising materials and associated logistical concerns. At Forum 13, experts will share information on, for example, sustainable trends and innovations, the latest trends in textile advertising, and distinctive corporate identity branding.
Bring your customer
The PSI Show is a closed-shop event; only members are granted access. However, promotional products consultants will for the third time have an opportunity to invite their customers to attend on the third day of the show. “Ever since they’ve opened the trade show to industry customers for one day, we’ve used PSI as a marketing tool to let our customers experience the diversity and professionalism of our industry. The response has been outstanding”, says, for example, Daniel Meffert, managing director of S&P Werbeartikel.
Members get even more
Away from the hustle and bustle of the trade show and yet central to all the action, several retreat areas will be set aside to network, get some work done or simply take a break. New this year is a Members Only Lounge in Hall 10 with a floor space of 900 square metres, which will also offer an overview of all PSI services. Access will only be granted to members. What’s more, VIPs and distributor members will for the first time be able to enjoy free Wi-Fi this year, making it even easier to do business at the show. Listing all the participants of the three trade shows, the free matchmaking program will similarly facilitate lead generation, making interdisciplinary networking a breeze. The matchmaking & Media Lounge in Hall 10, Stand C71, will provide a space for talks.
Networking after the show
The programme continues even after the show. On Tuesday, 8 January, the exhibitors will close out a day of trade show deal-making over snacks, beverages and live music at the After Work party in Hall 9. Furthermore, PSI exhibitors and visitors are invited to deepen their networking efforts with their newly acquired leads from the two parallel events during VISPROM Night on 9 January. The event at the Schlösser Quartier Bohème in Düsseldorf’s Old Town will start at 6:30 pm.
The complete programme for all three trade shows is available online at: www.psi-messe.com/programme.
At PSI, the Leading European Trade Show of the Promotional Products Industry, promotional products professionals will be able to gain an overview of the trends and innovations of the industry. In addition, special exhibits and show areas are dedicated to an in-depth look at promotional labelling, printing and finishing technologies, inventions and innovations, and much more. At PSI 2018, 925 exhibitors from 37 countries presented their companies to 17,342 visitors. In 2019, PSI will for the first time take place concurrently with PromoTex Expo and viscom in Düsseldorf from 8 to 10 January. Together, the three events will provide an overview of the world of advertising and selling that’s one-of-a-kind in Europe.
