The promotional products industry focuses ever more strongly on the three pillars of sustainability: economy, ecology and social matters. PSI, the international network of the promotional products industry, has documented and promoted this commitment with the PSI Sustainability Awards since 2015. This year sees the only sustainability awards in this industry being presented for the fifth time now – but with an extended participation procedure and over 260 companies that were already pre-nominated as a result of this.

Sustainability, cost savings and durability along with high quality are the top themes permeating the promotional products industry right now, as the PSI FIRST winners of the People’s Choice Award 2019 underscored. From 8 to 10 January 2019, visitors at the leading European trade show of the promotional products industry had a chance to cast their vote for the product they thought has the greatest chances to succeed in the market. The following three product launches reigned supreme as the visitor favourites.

One visit, all the perks – a brilliant idea, well received. Featuring a total of 1,084 exhibiting companies, the new trade show network consisting of PSI, PromoTex Expo and viscom underscored its ambition of becoming Europe’s largest combined event for advertising and selling. More than half of the exhibitors came from outside Germany, representing a total of 38 countries.

Climate change, resource shortage, greenwashing: sustainability is a word on everyone’s lips but it is far from being a mainstream topic. This became clear at the PSI Sustainability Summit on 7 September – a new platform for exchange between the promotional products industry, which is increasingly dealing with this issue, and representatives from private businesses. With over 50 participants from the promotional products industry the summit served as a successful kick-off for the fourth presentation of the PSI Sustainability Awards, the only sustainability prize in this industry.
