The promotional products industry is viewing 2017 with optimism. About one in five distributors and suppliers expect sales to increase in the current business year. That’s the finding of the just-published PSI Industry Barometer 1/2017, one of the most comprehensive market studies for the European promotional products industry.

Eight times at the PSI Sustainability Awards 2016 Ceremony last autumn, we heard: “And the winner is … .” This year, companies of the promotional products industry will get another chance to win one of the coveted sustainability prizes with their products, campaigns or companies. Almost 90 of this year’s more than 150 submissions were nominated. The formal awards ceremony will take place at the Kurhaus Wiesbaden on 8 September 2017.

From social responsibility to clean companies, sustainability is a topic that’s getting more and more attention in the promotional products industry. High levels of commitment can be found among suppliers and distributors alike. One in two suppliers are thinking about the future: for example, a whopping 56 per cent of promotional products suppliers responding to the latest PSI Industry Barometer said they’d taken steps to get certified or obtain proof of sustainable operations in 2016. Among distributors, a still-respectable 29 per cent said “yes” to sustainability.
